My name is William (Billy) Tanner and I am a Print Journalist/Public Affairs Staff Sergeant. I have been in the United States Military for the past 11 years. During my time in the military, I've served as a United States Marine with the 2nd Marine Corps Division (2nd MARDIV) and a combat engineer with the 92nd Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade (U.S. Army). After serving a tour in Afghanistan, I reenlisted as a print journalist and was stationed at Vilseck, Germany where I covered several different operations including Operation Atlantic Resolve.
Throughout the last five years as a U.S. Army print journalist, I have won several U.S. Army Keith L. Ware awards for my photography and story writing while having my work published in places such as the Bavarian Times Magazine, U.S. Army Times, and CNN. I am currently enrolled in the Military Photojournalism Program at S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication, located at Syracuse University.
I have taken quite a few pictures while traveling the world with the U.S. Army. To view more of my photography, feel free to click on the link below. My Flickr Page
